For my final portfolio, I chose to focus on the theme of childhood, using bubbles as a stylistic medium. Through this project, I wanted to explore the creativity, freedom, and other whimsical aspects of childhood. Each of my four pieces centers on a different aspect of childhood. In Dreams, a girl's outstretched hands cradle bubbles containing her hopes and dreams: Disneyland, Christmas, the Olympics. In Imagination, the beloved characters of classic children's stories come alive, floating out of the pages of a picture book. In Curiosity, a boy sits on a bubble wand, peering at a spaceship flying over a futuristic city. Finally, in Mischief, a girl and a boy adventure in space, their toys drifting along with them.
